#im sorry it took me so long to answer this i was waiting for the fireflies to wake up#and while waiting i had a busy day helping my classmate with the field work for her master's along with a couple of our other classmates#we were sampling river invertebrates and tracking previously tagged fish#in the most gorgeous turquoise-watered golden-leafed forest paradise in the middle of nowhere#and we had such a great time despite being wet in -2*C weather for the whole day#we had those work boots that reach up to your torso but most of our arms were wet and that can get really unpleasant in cold weather#but our awesome dad of a professor took us all to a cafe for hot drinks afterwards (i had hot chocolate and it was sooo good)#(after feeding us tangerines and all sorts of cookies all day)#and the 2 hour car ride back was so much fun too#he has one of those fancy cars with heated seats so we defrosted pretty fast#and he was telling us his crazy stories the entire time#the madman used to have a pet lamprey as a kid that he caught in a brook near his house#and kept it in a tied plastic bag filled with water on his nightstand#im gonna delete these tags in a while for privacy reasons but for now i want to ramble about the great day i had#inside the firefly mailbox
